Founded in 1938, Cold Spring Harbor Nursery School has a long-standing tradition of nurturing young learners in a warm, welcoming environment.

As one of Long Island’s oldest cooperative preschools, our roots run deep in the community. Generations of families have passed through our doors, drawn by our commitment to early childhood education and strong family involvement.

A Cooperative Learning Experience

As a parent-run cooperative, family involvement is central to who we are. Parents play an active role in classroom life, seasonal celebrations, and school governance. This model not only strengthens the bond between home and school but also fosters a genuine sense of community among our families.

Together with our dedicated teaching staff, we create an environment where children thrive—not just academically, but socially and emotionally. The result is a school that feels like an extension of home, where lifelong friendships often begin.

Beyond the classroom, students participate in enriching weekly specials such as Music, Yoga, and Art—adding joy and variety to their school experience.
